Calistoga Reflexology

The ancient art of reflexology was invented by the Chinese 5,000 years ago, spreading to the Middle East a relatively short time later. Ancient Egyptian wall paintings have been discovered that depict the process of reflexology; evidence suggests that the practice was highly regarded by members of the nobility as a curative method of therapy.
Reflexology was eventually introduced to America in the 1930s, when physiotherapist Eunice Ingham founded the International Institute of Reflexology; an establishment that still educates modern-day therapists in the art of reflexive massage.
